Ripening
An Elders' Wisdom Retreat
An Invitation to Men and Women 55 and Older by

with Sherry Ruth Anderson

July 12-15, 2012

What does it mean to become a wise elder in our tech-savvy world?
When any subject can be Googled instantly,
it is not about information...
When books and sacred texts can be downloaded with a click,
it is not about memory...

Elder wisdom is the ripening that comes through experience deeply lived and reflected on. Clarity comes from loving attention to the way things are.

What is the fruit of our reflection and our practice?
Distracted by what is diminishing physically and mentally, we may miss the subtle and sensitive ways in which we are growing wise. In the good company of peers, we can explore more deeply how to nourish the seeds of wisdom within each of us. Building on the themes of this retreat, Sherry will take us into explorations of elder wisdom through reflections and inquiry in pairs, in small groups and in meditative time.
